Description: Navidi Architect provided architectural consulting services to Rafii Architects for the development of a six-storey, 75-unit purpose-built rental housing project located at 380 East 1st Street in North Vancouver, BC. The project is intended to contribute to the City’s housing objectives by providing a diverse mix of studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom rental homes within a well-connected urban neighbourhood.
The development has been carefully planned to balance housing density with livability, incorporating a contemporary architectural expression, articulated building massing, durable material selections, and thoughtfully integrated landscape elements. Ground-oriented townhouse units, private outdoor spaces, and resident amenity areas help foster a strong sense of community while creating an engaging and pedestrian-friendly streetscape.
The project responds to the site’s urban context through enhanced public realm improvements, accessible circulation, and efficient residential layouts designed to support a broad range of household types. Underground parking and integrated building services have been carefully coordinated to maximize site efficiency while maintaining a high-quality living environment for residents.
As Architectural Consultant to Rafii Architects, Navidi Architect supported the project through development application, municipal approvals, consultant coordination, design development, and stakeholder engagement. The project reflects a collaborative approach between the owner, consultant team, and municipal authorities to deliver much-needed rental housing that supports long-term community growth and housing diversity in North Vancouver.
