Description: Navidi Architect provided architectural services for the redevelopment and tenant improvement of an existing two-storey commercial building to accommodate a new Value Village retail store in North Vancouver, British Columbia.
The project involved the comprehensive reconfiguration of approximately 1,789 m² of existing retail space, including interior demolition, new sales floor layouts, back-of-house processing areas, customer service functions, staff facilities, accessibility upgrades, and extensive coordination of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and life-safety systems.
Working within an existing commercial structure, the design team carefully evaluated building code requirements, occupant load calculations, fire and life safety provisions, travel distances, accessibility standards, and existing building conditions. The project required close collaboration with municipal authorities, consultants, contractors, and ownership teams to facilitate permit approvals and successful implementation.
The redevelopment modernized the facility while supporting Value Village’s operational requirements, improving customer experience, staff functionality, and long-term building performance.
The project demonstrates NAI’s expertise in large-scale retail renovations, existing building upgrades, code analysis, life-safety coordination, and the delivery of complex tenant improvement projects within active commercial environments.
